Drupad and Dronacharya were two prominent figures from ancient Indian mythology, particularly from the epic Mahabharata.

According to the Mahabharata, Drupad was the king of Panchala, and Dronacharya was a skilled warrior and archery instructor. Dronacharya was hired by Drupad to teach his son, Prince Dhrishtadyumna, the art of warfare and archery. However, after completing his training, Dronacharya demanded that Drupad pay him a fee that the king considered too high.

Feeling insulted by Drupad’s refusal to pay him the promised fee, Dronacharya decided to take revenge. He went on to train the Pandavas and the Kauravas, the two rival groups of cousins, and helped them in the epic battle of Kurukshetra. In the war, Dronacharya fought on the side of the Kauravas, who eventually lost.

After the war, Prince Dhrishtadyumna, Drupad’s son, avenged his father’s humiliation by defeating and killing Dronacharya in battle.

In short, Drupad and Dronacharya had a falling out due to a disagreement over payment for Dronacharya’s services, which led to Dronacharya seeking revenge by training Drupad’s enemies. This ultimately led to Dronacharya’s death at the hands of Drupad’s son.
