what is the difference between mahashivatri and mahashivatri?

Once in a month, Masa Shivratri comes. Maha Shivaratri comes once a year. Shri Sobhakrit Nama Year Magha Month Multi Paksha Day 8th March 2024 Day Mahashivratri Devotees celebrate Shiva Kalyan in every village. Let us now see the difference between Maha Shivratri and Masa Shivratri. On Shivaratri, women fast for their husbands’ luck and longevity. Scholars say that this fast gives flawless results. It is said that if you worship Lord Shiva on this day, you will get rid of the vices of lust, anger, greed, etc.

Mahashivratri is celebrated by women with great devotion. This year (2024) March 8 falls on Friday. On this day, women fast for their husbands’ great luck and longevity. Fasting on Mahashivratri means a good husband and there are chances of early marriages for unmarried people. It is also believed that they will be happy in married life. Pundits say that Mahashivratri fasting gives flawless results even though the monthly Shivratri is celebrated every month.

This vrata can be performed by either male or female. Both Maha Shivaratri and Masa Shivaratri are festivals related to Lord Shiva. He appeared in the form of a linga with radiance equal to crores of suns on the Krishna Paksha Chaturdashi tithi of Mahashivratri i.e. Phalguna month. This festival is celebrated as Mahashivaratri due to the sight of Jyotirlinga.

Mahashivratri is an auspicious day for the divine incarnation of Lord Shiva. The night when Bholenath came from incarnate body form is called Mahashivratri. There is no other fast that removes sins and fears like Shivaratri. By doing this, all kinds of sins are destroyed. It is believed that on the day of Shivratri, Mahadev gives happiness and peace to those who worship Lord Shiva by freeing them from vices like lust, anger, greed, etc.

Mahadev and Parvati got married in Shivaratri. That is why the Bholenath procession is taken out on that day and worshiped at night. According to Shiva Purana, the Chaturdashi date is known as the festival of marriage as it is the celebration of Shivalinga. That is why this date is the favorite day of Lord Shiva. This is the reason why Masa Shivratri is celebrated every month on Krishnapaksha Chaturdashi. It is believed that those who worship Lord Shiva on this day will find happiness in their married life and a suitable spouse for marriage.
